What We Mean by “Clean Fragrance”

At Delger Family Farm, we believe fragrance should make your home feel warm, welcoming, and comforting—and we also believe you deserve to know what goes into the products you bring into your home.

That is why we are very intentional about the fragrance oils we choose for our candles, wax melts, room sprays, car diffusers, soaps, and other scented products.

Our fragrances are made using a combination of naturally derived ingredients, including essential oils, and carefully selected man-made fragrance components. We want to be open about that because transparency is an important part of our brand. While essential oils can create beautiful scents, they cannot always produce the wide variety of fragrances people know and love. By combining natural and thoughtfully formulated fragrance ingredients, we are able to create scents inspired by experiences and memories—like a warm kitchen filled with freshly baked apple pie, a cozy sweater on a crisp fall afternoon, or a Christmas tree glowing in the living room.

When we talk about clean fragrance, we are referring to the standards we use when selecting the fragrance oils that go into our products.

We choose fragrance oils that are formulated without ingredients we intentionally avoid, including:

• Phthalates
• Known carcinogens
• Endocrine-disrupting ingredients
• Ingredients listed under California Proposition 65

We also believe it is important to recognize that the words natural and synthetic do not automatically tell you whether an ingredient is safe. Natural ingredients can still cause irritation or sensitivity, while man-made fragrance ingredients can be carefully designed and evaluated for use in consumer products. For us, the goal is not simply to choose ingredients based on where they come from, but to look closely at what is actually in the fragrance and what has been left out.

This approach allows us to create beautiful, complex fragrances while staying consistent with the standards we have established for Delger Family Farm.

We are continually learning, researching ingredients, and evaluating the materials we use as new information becomes available. We never want “clean” to be nothing more than a marketing word. We want it to represent the thought and care that goes into choosing the ingredients behind every scent we offer.

Our goal is simple: to create products that smell beautiful, bring a little more comfort to your everyday life, and that we can feel good about using in our own home and sharing with yours.
