Grilled Pancakes Recipe

When you have a family of six, making pancakes on a tiny skillet can feel like a full morning event. By the time the last pancakes are done, the first batch is cold, someone is hungry again, and you’ve somehow been standing at the stove for half an hour straight.

That’s exactly why we started making our pancakes on the griddle grill.

Using the griddle lets us cook a large batch all at once, making breakfast faster, easier, and way less chaotic. Plus, the pancakes cook beautifully golden brown with fluffy centers and crisp buttery edges.

We also use organic flour and organic cane sugar in our kitchen whenever possible. After making changes to the ingredients we use in our home, we noticed a big difference in how our family feels overall, and it’s something we’ve continued to prioritize.

These pancakes are simple, classic, and perfect for slow family mornings.

Grilled Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups buttermilk
(or 2 1/2 cups goat milk or regular milk mixed with 2 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar
    (we use organic cane sugar)

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.

  2. Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until combined.

  3. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes. This helps create fluffier pancakes.

  4. Heat your griddle grill to low heat.

  5. Scoop about 1/4 cup batter onto the griddle for each pancake.

  6. Cook until bubbles begin forming on the surface, about 1–2 minutes.

  7. Flip and cook for another minute, or until golden brown.

Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, fresh berries, or whipped cream.

Why We Love Griddle Pancakes

The best part about using the griddle grill is being able to make enough pancakes for the whole family in just a few rounds instead of standing over a tiny skillet all morning long.

It’s one of those simple changes that makes homemade breakfasts feel enjoyable again.

And if you have little kids like ours, there’s a good chance these disappear almost as fast as you can make them.
